What is your Cake Policy?
At The Ratcatchers, our ethos is simple: Meat, Bread, Pasta — everything made by us, by hand, in our own kitchen. Because of this commitment to craft, quality, and consistency, we do not allow guests to bring in their own cakes or desserts. If external cakes are brought in, our front of house team will kindly ask that they be taken out of the restaurant.
We absolutely encourage celebrating with us, so if you’re joining us for a special occasion, please let us know when booking. Our chefs may well have a surprise up their sleeves to help make the moment memorable.
Do you have a dress code?
We welcome all guests to dine comfortably at The Ratcatchers. Our recommended dress code is smart casual, so you can enjoy a relaxed yet stylish dining experience.
Do you cater for private events and occasions?
Yes! We cater for private events and celebrations. Please contact us directly to discuss availability, menus, and special arrangements for your event.
Allergies & Dietary Requirements
We are able to cater for many dietary requirements, preferences, intolerances, and allergies. We always aim to make as few adjustments as possible so that our guests can enjoy each dish as it was originally intended. However, if a dietary need requires extensive changes that would compromise the quality or integrity of the dish, we may not be able to fulfil that request.
We take our guests’ safety extremely seriously. Due to the size and layout of our kitchen, we cannot guarantee a nut-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, or overall allergen-free environment, and cross-contamination cannot be ruled out. For this reason, we are unable to accommodate severe or life-threatening allergies, including coeliac disease.
Some ingredients and preparations are integral to our menu; therefore, we are unable to offer vegan options. We are, however, able to cater for Vegetarian and Pescatarian guests.
If you have a more unusual or specific dietary requirement, please contact us before booking to avoid disappointment.
Please note: Our menu descriptions do not list every ingredient used. We only provide information regarding the 14 regulated allergens, as required by current Food Standards Agency legislation.
Can I come for a drink?
Absolutely! Our bar is fully stocked with a wide range of spirits, eight taps—including four lagers—and a selection of fun cocktails and mocktails, all made from scratch. Feeling a little peckish? We also offer a variety of delicious bar snacks to enjoy with your drink.
Do you have a garden and outside seating?
Yes! We have a summer beer garden as well as an outdoor terrace area. You can enjoy alfresco dining from our full menu, with the same friendly and attentive service as inside. Our terrace is a lovely sun trap, and parasols provide shade on the hottest days to ensure a comfortable experience.
Wheelchair access?
Yes! We have disabled parking to the left of the building and access via a ramp to our conservatory side entrance. Our dining areas and restroom facilities are fully accessible, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable visit for all guests.
Do I need to book a table in advance?
We strongly recommend booking a table, as we operate the kitchen with only two chefs. To ensure the best quality and service, we stagger bookings accordingly. You can reserve your table online through our website or by phone.
Is there parking available?
Yes, we have on-site parking for our guests. Disabled parking is available to the left of the building.
